Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Inkveil (“Inkveil,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our interactive AI roleplay service. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — the email address and display name you provide (or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account email and name). We store a hashed password, never the plain text.
• Content you create — characters, aliases, group definitions, chat messages, comments, and any images you upload or generate.
• Usage & device data — basic logs (timestamps, actions, approximate usage), needed to run the service, enforce limits, and prevent abuse.
• Age confirmation — a record that you confirmed you are 18 or older before accessing mature content.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full card number; we receive only a subscription/transaction reference and status.

2. How we use your information

To operate and provide the service; to generate AI replies and images; to enforce usage limits, our Content Policy, and safety rules (including screening for prohibited content); to process payments and manage subscriptions; to communicate with you (e.g. account, billing, and support email); and to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.

3. Service providers we share with

We share the minimum data necessary with vetted providers who process it on our behalf:

• Hosting & database — to run the app and store your account and content.
• AI providers — the text of your prompts/chats is sent to our AI model and moderation providers to generate replies and to screen content for safety. Do not share information you consider sensitive in chats.
• Payment processor — to take payment and manage subscriptions; they are the merchant of record and apply their own privacy terms to card data.
• Email provider — to send transactional email (account, billing, support).
• Image storage — to store uploaded/generated images.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public (including reporting child-sexual-abuse material to the relevant authorities, which we are legally obligated to do).

4. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Evidence of prohibited-content attempts is retained for safety and legal-compliance purposes for up to 90 days, after which it is automatically deleted — except where an account was actioned for a violation or where the law requires longer preservation (for example, records connected to a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children are preserved for one year). You can delete your chats in-app; deleting your account removes your personal data except where we must retain it by law.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these, or to close your account, email support@inkveil.ai. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

6. Age

Inkveil is not directed to children. You must meet the age requirements in our Terms, and mature content is available only to users who confirm they are 18 or older. If we learn we have collected data from someone under the applicable minimum age, we delete it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
